The year was 2020, and the entire world had ground to a halt as everyone was confined indoors. It was then that I realized I had to find something to occupy my time, other than my love and passion for photography, so I decided to enroll in an interior design course. Module 3 discusses Design Styles, this is when I was introduced to the Japandi interior design aesthetic, and now I am a huge fan. It is a combination of the Scandinavian modernist movement with the traditional cultural elegance that we see in Japanese styling. This color palette references the sun's effect penetrating the windows and warming the room.  For a cozy atmosphere, dark and warm colors can be used on the walls, especially in a larger than average room, as they tend to make the walls appear to advance, and by adding large, light-colored artwork to a feature wall, you create balance and interest.
